A mattress will not fit in a bin, most cities will not take one in normal collection without scheduling it, and leaving one at the curb is illegal dumping with a fine attached to your address.
They are also one of the most recyclable things in a house. The steel springs, foam and fibre all have a stream. California runs a statewide mattress recycling program funded by a fee already paid when a new mattress is bought, so recycling one is generally free at participating drop-off sites — the awkward part is getting it there.
That is the part we do. We route mattresses to recycling wherever the receiving facility accepts them, rather than sending them straight to a transfer station.

Worth Knowing Before Pickup
- Tell us the size and how many
- Say which floor and whether there is an elevator
- Mention if it is wrapped or needs wrapping
- Flag water damage, mold or any infestation
- Box springs count as separate items
- Ground-floor curbside pickups are quickest
If a mattress is soaked, moldy or infested, say so when you book. It changes how we wrap and where it can go — donation centers and some recyclers will refuse it, and we would rather plan for that than discover it in your hallway.

Can I just leave it at the curb?
Not without scheduling a bulky-item pickup with your city first, and many limit how many items and how often. An unscheduled mattress on the curb is illegal dumping, and the citation follows the address it sits outside.
Do you actually recycle them?
We route mattresses to recycling wherever the receiving facility takes them. Steel, foam and fibre are all recoverable. What we will not do is claim every single one gets recycled — that depends on the condition and the facility.
What does one mattress cost to remove?
A single mattress falls under our minimum load, because the drive and the labor cost the same whether the truck leaves full or nearly empty. Call or text and you get the exact number for your job.
It is on the third floor with no elevator. Still fine?
Fine, and worth mentioning when you call so the quote reflects the carry. Stairs are labor, and labor is part of the price we quote up front rather than a surprise added later.
